AND THE WINNER IS . . .
March 30, 2000

The winner, no matter who you ask, is Grover Hermann Hospital.

Packing the glitz and glamour of Oscar night into the Narrowsburg Inn, Jocelyne Castellano put together another successful fundraiser for the Callicoon hospital.

Castellano, the driving force behind the Narrowsburg International Independent Film Festival, took the fundraising chair position at Grover Hermann in January. Since then, she has produced two successful fundraisers with more ideas for the future.

It is very crucial that [Grover Hermann Hospital] remains open," she said. "Ambulance corps must know that they can bring people here and get good treatment."

Bringing local celebrities and community leaders together with good food, music, live entertainment and the Oscars, displayed on five different screens about the Inn, proved to be a very good mix. Over 150 people turned out for the event.

A high point of the night was the surprise entertainment guest C.P. Lacey performing his nationally recognized Michael Jackson impersonation act. Wowing the crowd with dead on renditions of hits like "Billy Jean" and "Beat It", Lacey added an extra flair to the evening.
